Wintertime in Upernavik

Uummannaq

There are four grocery stores in the town, also local taxi's are available. One week of meal supplies from the grocery stores cost often: Breakfast 150 DKK, lunch 180 DKK and dinner 350 DKK. There are six hotels, where one is in Oqaatsut village and approx. eighteen other accommodation. You can choose between 14 places to eat, all from restaurants to cafes and pizzaria. There are local taxi's and opportunity to rent a car. Cost of one meal is often: Restaurant 300DKK, Cafe 120DKK fastfood 80-100DKK.

How to Get Here

North Greenland can be reach both by air and by sea, depending on the season. 

Even though the the destination sounds far away and unreachable, there are flights to each town all year round. During the summer time, there are two options to fly from, which are through Copenhagen in Denmark or through Reykjavik in Iceland.  During the winter there are regular flights from Copenhagen.
