How to get here

North Greenland can be reached by air and by sea

Even though the destination sounds far away and unreachable, there are flights to each town all year, or you can go onboard the local ferry Sarfaq Ittuk most of the year to visit North Greenland.  

During the summer time, there are two options to fly from, which are from Copenhagen, Denmark or from Reykjavik, Iceland, during winter it's only possible from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Fun Facts about the destination

Did you know Siorapaluk village is the second northern most living place on earth? It's a village of North Greenland.

 

Avannata Kommunia -where we are placed is second largest municipality on earth, the size is 522,700 square kilometers or 201,800 square miles. The municipality is a bit larger than Spain and the state of California in the U.S.

 

As we have many ice glaciers, the blue ice can easily be found here. The ice is blue because, it is the first ice wthat was frozen and is the oldest part of the Greenland ice-sheet. It is compressed under many layers of ice and makes the color blue.
